About US
Why This Site Exists
The Vital Vault reviews metabolic, blood sugar, and weight-management supplements. The category has a problem: most reviews are written from the affiliate link backwards. A product gets a five-star verdict because the commission is good, and the “research” section is a rewritten sales page.
We do it the other way around. Every review starts with the ingredient list, then asks the same question for each ingredient: is there human research behind it, and at what dose? If the answer is no, we say so — even when the product pays well.
Who Writes Here
The Vital Vault is written and maintained by Cedric Hale, an independent health and supplement researcher. He has been reviewing consumer health products since 2019, working from primary research rather than press releases and marketing copy.
Cedric is not a physician, pharmacist, or registered dietitian, and this site does not provide medical advice. What he does is read the studies, compare them against product labels, and write down what holds up and what does not. That is a research and reporting job, not a clinical one, and we do not pretend otherwise.
Our Evidence Standard
Every factual claim about an ingredient in our reviews must pass one of these five tests. If it cannot, it does not go in the article.
- Primary sources only. We cite the actual study record on PubMed, not a blog summary of a study, and not a manufacturer’s white paper.
- Human data preferred. Cell and animal studies may be mentioned as context, but never as proof that a product works for people.
- Ingredient evidence is not product evidence. A studied ingredient does not make a studied product. We state this limitation in every review rather than burying it.
- Dose matters. If a label hides its doses behind a proprietary blend, we grade that as a transparency failure, regardless of how good the ingredient list looks.
- Corrections are public. If we get something wrong, we fix it and note what changed. We do not quietly delete claims.
How We Make Money
The Vital Vault earns commissions when readers buy products through links on this site. This is how the site stays free and independent of sponsored placements.
Two things follow from that. First, we do not accept payment for positive reviews, rankings, or placement — commissions are earned on sales, never on opinions. Second, some products we rank highly pay lower commissions than products we rank lower. If we were optimising purely for revenue, several of our verdicts would look different.
What We Are Not
- We are not a medical provider. Nothing here is diagnosis, treatment, or prescription.
- We are not a testing lab. We do not run independent chemical assays on products.
- We are not affiliated with the manufacturers we review beyond standard affiliate relationships.
If you are taking medication, are pregnant or nursing, or have a diagnosed condition, talk to a qualified clinician before starting any supplement. Our reviews are written to help you ask better questions, not to replace that conversation.
